This course will cover representation of a client where the IRS is proposing the trust fund recovery penalty and how to successfully negotiate a resolution. The trust fund penalty is one of the main focuses of the IRS when it comes to collecting delinquent employment taxes. Knowing how to represent a client when this penalty is or might be proposed is important in protecting a client's rights. This course is approved by the IRS. The submission of a completed request form, found under the materials tab, is required for credit.

In addition to his private practice, Larry is Director of the Federal Taxpayers Clinic and Small Business Clinic at the SMU Dedman School of Law and teaches Federal Tax Procedure and Taxation of Property Dispositions at the Law School. Larry and his partner, Jack Townsend, are listed in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business, and have been selected as Texas Super Lawyers. Larry is a teacher, author, and recognized public speaker and authority on tax controversy matters, and how to effectively deal with the IRS. Larry has developed, written, and taught courses for various professional organizations involving all aspects of the IRS including but not limited to audits, appeals, collections, and negotiating with the IRS. Larry is a member of the Advisory Board of the Journal of Tax Practice and Procedure published by CCH, and writes a column on examination issues for this publication. Larry has published various articles on dealing with the IRS. He has been a co-author of Guide to Dealing with the IRS published by Practitioners Publishing Company.
